The only reason I even make the sheild generator is so I don't have to later. I don't use the silent drive, or sheild, huge power drains. I've never come remotely close to being concerned about power in the cyclops. I charge vehicles in the bay without care. I use fabricators on my cyclops without care, as well as battery chargers (batteries, not power cells). I've never used even half of them for hot swaps out away from base, and that includes going from topside down to the final areas, and back up. I always build a wall panel storage next to the engine to put a spare set of power cells.

I always have it before I even build a cyclops so it's the first thing that goes in.

SUBNAUTICA LITHIUM POWER CELL UPGRADE

If you place the grow bed in a bad corner, you'll have to strategically leave the closest row for your blade and pick fruit from the further-away rows.Įfficiency upgrade is the massive one. A single growbed holds 16 fruit, which is overkill, but you can't crouch and your knife wont reach the second row of melons. Most of the time you'll pick six fruit, then chop two, replant all the seeds, and they'll grow back before you need them again. Chopping one melon will give you 4 seeds, so chop one melon for every 3 melons you pick. You'll never need more than 8 melons to fill up on H2O, usually 6 will top you off. Marble melons give 10 food and 12 water per harvest, and you dehydrate faster than you starve. Bulbo Tree cuttings give 12 food and 10 h2o a slice, iirc, but can be unreliable if you aren't keeping track of your cuts. There really isn’t much need build power cell chargers in Cyclops to charge even more.Īll the plants are pretty comparable on food, but lantern fruit and chinese potatoes are low on water content. You can already charge 8 cells simultaneously by putting two in Prawn and 6 more in Cyclops. Prawn and Cyclops both need kyanite for their thermal reactor and Seamoth already has the solar charger. The reality is, however, that by the time you get the thermal reactor, you likely don’t need to worry a whole lot about charging power cells. The more you are trying to charge, the slower it will get and it is possible the cells in Cyclops will continue to drain while it is trying to charge other power cells. A thermal charger will charge the cells in Cyclops, so in theory with a proper heat source it would work to use the thermal reactor to charge a lot of power cells simultaneously (6 in Cyclops, 2 in a vehicle, 2 in each power cell charger).

  • yes there are some late game options which largely fix the issue, I assume you’d not be asking if you had thoseĬyclops will use the installed cells to charge the cells in the power cell charger as well as any docked vehicle.
  • optionally, use a solar charging module in your Seamoth to treat it as a mobile solar power cell charger for your Cyclops - they charge pretty quick in shallow water - while that’s not quite extending power cell life, it does extend how long you can go without needing to visit a static base.

don’t worry about lights, they don’t cost power.

    SUBNAUTICA LITHIUM POWER CELL FULL

For either PRAWN or Seamoth, put a full power cell in right before you dock to similarly stop it drawing juice from the Cyclops.

  • if you’ve been on a long excursion in your PRAWN, remove the flatter of its two power cells before you dock it as they will charge from the Cyclops.
  • use any fabricators onboard only when you really need to, if it can wait until you’re in a base, it waits.
  • No chargers in the cyclops carry spare batts instead.
  • SUBNAUTICA LITHIUM POWER CELL OFFLINE

Use shields for shortest possible period take engines offline at the first sign of trouble then sit and chill while you wait for ‘trouble’ to get bored and go away.
